Jill S. Waibel, MD


Dr. Jill Waibel, M.DDr. Waibel practices as a board certified dermatologist specializing in cutaneous laser surgery and the dermatologic care of patients. She is currently the medical director and owner of Miami Dermatology and Laser Institute in Miami, Florida.

The treatment of scars, especially burn scars, by applying today’s latest cutaneous laser technologies is one of Dr. Waibel’s primary passions. She has successfully developed industry leading procedures and techniques for treating the scars of burn survivors. These innovative laser treatments benefit both medical and cosmetic outcomes.

Dr. Waibel’s undergraduate degree is from Indiana University. She completed medical school and her dermatology residency at the Wright State School of Medicine where she graduated Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society at the top of her class. Dr. Waibel completed three dermatologic laser surgery preceptorships that laid the fundamental groundwork for her laser surgery practice.

Dr. Waibel is a board certified dermatologist, and serves as a Clinical Voluntary Professor at University of Miami and Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology for Wright State University. She is the Dermatology Subsection Chief in the Department of Medicine at Baptist Hospital. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology, and a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Waibel is also a member of several professional organizations – the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the Women’s Dermatologic Society and the American Medical Association. She also served as a Vice- Chairman for the Dermatology Foundation and a Florida Medical Association Delegate.

She has received numerous honors and awards for her contributions to medicine, including the Enhancement of Public and Community Education Award given by Surgeon General Koop for her national work with AIDS education. This work lead to the establishment of the Ryan White Infectious Disease Center at Riley hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

Dr. Waibel’s research has been published in many peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. Over the past five years Dr. Waibel has lectured at numerous laser surgery and dermatology meetings and workshops both nationally & around the globe.
Dr. Waibel is currently involved in clinical trials for the improvement of general, cosmetic and laser dermatology. Dr. Waibel has been the primary investigator in studying the use of lasers and burn patients. She works with a team at the University of Miami and has developed patents related to laser and stem cells.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Waibel serves as a consulting dermatologist in support of advancing new laser surgery developments and industry direction.

Dr. Waibel makes her home in South Florida with her husband and three daughters.
