Dr. Alexander Daoud is a board-certified dermatologist, fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon, and fellowship-trained cosmetic dermatologic surgeon. He attended Emory University for his undergraduate studies, after which Dr. Daoud returned to his hometown of Miami to complete medical school at the Florida International University College of Medicine. Dr. Daoud attended medical school as the recipient of a full-tuition, merit-based academic scholarship, and he was one of five students elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society as a junior medical student. He graduated as Valedictorian of his medical school class in 2016.
After medical school, Dr. Daoud completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He then moved to Long Island, NY to complete residency in Dermatology at Stony Brook University Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident of the Northport Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
Following residency, Dr. Daoud furthered his training in Procedural Dermatology by completing two highly competitive fellowships. He first completed an American Society for Dermatologic Surgery-accredited Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery fellowship under internationally renowned leaders Drs. Robert Weiss and Margaret Weiss. Here, he received advanced training in laser medicine and surgery, neuromodulators (such as Botox), injectable fillers, non-invasive body contouring, minimally invasive facial rejuvenation, and minimally invasive vein surgery. Thereafter, Dr. Daoud completed fellowship in (Mohs) Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine, training extensively in the surgical management and reconstructive surgery associated with cosmetically and functionally concerning skin cancers. While at the University of Florida, Dr. Daoud served as Attending Physician to the Resident Cosmetics Clinic, teaching advanced cosmetic dermatology practices to trainees in Dermatology and Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Daoud has authored peer-reviewed journal publications and book chapters that have advanced the field of laser-assisted drug delivery. He has written and conducted clinical studies in both cosmetic and surgical dermatology, and he has presented on laser medicine, vein surgery, surgical dermatology, and aesthetic advancements at international dermatology conferences.
Dr. Daoud’s philosophy to patient care is that he and his patients are a team on the journey to optimal health. Through open communication, friendliness, and a persistent drive to advocate for his patient’s interests, he takes a conversational yet professional approach to patient encounters that leaves patients feeling empowered in their own care. When not in surgical scrubs, Dr. Daoud can be found weightlifting, practicing Muay Thai (Thai Kickboxing), playing guitar, cuddling his 100-lb German shepherd (who he lovingly refers to as a ‘lap dog’), and wearing a concerning amount of sunscreen.
