Vaginal atrophy treatments are performed by Jill Waibel, MD, FAAD, a board-certified dermatologist, at Miami Dermatology and Laser Institute on women living in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Kendall, FL, and nearby cities, who want to restore their vaginal health and self-confidence.
WHAT IS VAGINAL ATROPHY?
As a result of age or childbirth, it is common for women to experience sagging skin or a lack of skin elasticity. Vaginal atrophy treatment involves tightening the skin in the vaginal area to improve its appearance and help regain a more fulfilling sexual experience.
BENEFITS OF VAGINAL ATROPHY TREATMENT
Vaginal atrophy treatment corrects and improves the appearance and function of the vagina in addition to offering the following benefits:
- No discomfort
- Minimally invasive
- Little to no recovery
- Increased sexual satisfaction
Vaginal concerns are often overlooked in mainstream discussions of women’s health; however, this is an important part of the body that deserves to be maintained for the long-term. Especially if your vaginal laxity has led to lowered self-confidence or decreased satisfaction during sexual interactions, undergoing vaginal atrophy treatment is a trusted and successful option.
Our patients have found the benefits of vaginal atrophy treatment to have impacted more than just their physical troubles, greatly improving emotional concerns related to sexual pleasure as well. This is one procedure that truly approaches the patient from a holistic perspective, taking all of her needs into consideration.
HOW IS VAGINAL ATROPHY TREATMENT PERFORMED?
At Miami Dermatology and Laser Institute, vaginal atrophy treatment is performed using the diVa® laser to tighten the skin by boosting collagen production. This advanced laser treatment is FDA-approved for the ablation and coagulation of soft vaginal tissue. When used, it increases the elasticity of the skin around the vaginal wall as well as stimulates vaginal moisture and enhances sexual satisfaction. The diVa® also improves incontinence, which is a common issue with women over 40 or after childbirth.
The minimally invasive laser treatment take less than 30 minutes to perform. Most patients require one to three treatments about every four weeks followed by maintenance treatments every six to 12 months.
Given that the vagina is such an intimate and personal region of the body, we understand you may have some concerns about receiving a treatment there.
