What Happens During a miraDry® Appointment?
One of the most convenient aspects of miraDry® is that a single session generally takes just one hour. In fact, many patients stop by during their lunch break and then return back to work. During the procedure, a slight suction is applied to the treatment area to bring the sweat glands to the surface. Advanced technology then delivers energy to the treatment area, simultaneously eliminating sweat glands and cooling the site, so as not to cause the patient any discomfort.
In most cases, patients will see dramatic improvement after just one appointment. However, depending on your unique situation, you may require follow-up sessions to see best results.
Is miraDry® Painful?
Due to the noninvasive nature of the procedure, generally, miraDry® causes little pain and requires minimal downtime. Our team applies a local anesthetic to the treatment area to ensure maximum comfort while in the office. That said, swelling, soreness and some numbness is typical after the procedure and should resolve on its own in a few days. We recommend our patients refrain from heavy exercise for the first few days. However, light activity can be immediately resumed.
