What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a non-invasive skin treatment used to eliminate unwanted hair. The treatments use laser energy to target hair follicles and destroy the root leaving the healthy tissue surrounding it undamaged. Miami Dermatology and Laser Institute provides cutting-edge laser treatments for hair removal and other cosmetic procedures.
BENEFITS OF LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Laser hair removal has grown in popularity over the past decade because it alleviates the aggravation that comes with other methods of hair removal. Laser hair removal offers the following benefits:
- Long-lasting results
- Customized treatments
- Precise targeting of specific areas of skin
- Very little to no discomfort
- No more tweezing, shaving, plucking, waxing, etc.
While the physical benefits are important, the emotional and psychological benefits of laser hair removal cannot be understated. If you have been struggling with the embarrassment or hassle of unwanted hair, it can be a relief to finally have the clean, beautiful body you desire. Our highly skilled and experienced team understands how necessary it is to look and feel confident, from the inside out, and is enthusiastic about delivering the results you deserve.
HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?
At Miami Dermatology and Laser Institute, our board-certified physician assistant – customizes each patient’s laser hair removal treatment in order to achieve their unique goals and meet the needs and quality of their skin. In general, laser hair removal involves using concentrated beams of light energy delivered over targeted hair follicles to heat and destroy them. Because hair follicles may only be partially damaged, patients may require multiple treatments to destroy the follicles and fully eliminate unwanted hair. Technology has made it possible to treat larger areas of the body, such as legs, arms, and backs, using bigger laser devices, so we can successfully address all of your hair concerns.
Laser hair removal is not painful; however, some of our patients may find the treatment mildly uncomfortable, like a rubber band lightly snapping against the skin. If necessary, a topical numbing cream may be applied to the targeted area to relieve any discomfort. If multiple treatments are needed, they are scheduled several weeks apart.
