Latisse

Long eyelashes are a huge trend today. At Miami Dermatology and Laser Institute, our board-certified dermatologists prescribe Latisse® to people living in and around Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Kendall, FL, as well as the surrounding communities, who want thicker, longer lashes.

What Is Latisse®?

Latisse® is a prescription ointment FDA approved to lengthen and strengthen eyelashes. It is usually prescribed to people who have sparse, brittle lashes. The ointment affects eyelashes during the growth cycle. Over time, they grow thicker and longer.

Benefits Of Latisse®

Latisse® is FDA approved to lengthen lashes and provides the following benefits:

  • In-home treatment

  • Proven results

  • No discomfort

  • Continued results

How Is Latisse® Applied?

Latisse® is prescribed by a physician following an evaluation. At bedtime, once the face and eyes are cleansed and free of makeup, patients apply a small amount of Latisse® to the upper lash line with an applicator. A dermatologist or clinician will go over the proper application technique during an appointment to ensure patients apply the treatment correctly.

What Should I Expect From Latisse®

Latisse® affects lashes during their growth phase (anagen), which is why it typically takes about 12 weeks for the full results of Latisse® to become visible. It is important to continue using Latisse® as the lashes return to their original state without treatment.

Am I A Good Candidate For Latisse®?

If your lashes are sparse or thin and brittle, you may be a good candidate for Latisse®. Anyone with eye allergies or other issues may not be able to use Latisse®. The best way to know if Latisse® is right for you is to schedule a consultation with one of our dermatologists.
